How do I choose the right massage chair?
Start with your budget and your height, then look at the technology. Three collections, stepping up: Melkweg to start, Quasar for daily use and Andromeda for therapeutic massage. The buying guide helps.
What does a good massage chair cost?
Our massage chairs start at around €880 and run to just over €3,400. Below €1,000 you already get a complete full-body massage. Above €2,000 you mainly pay for depth, a continuous track and a body scan. Every model sits side by side in the full overview.
How much space do I need for a massage chair?
Allow roughly 1.5 by 0.8 metres of floor space, plus some room behind the chair for reclining. Most models are around 75 cm wide, so they fit through a standard doorway. Exact seated and reclined dimensions are on each product page.
What is the difference between 3D and 4D rollers?
3D rollers massage from a fixed position in the backrest and do not travel along your whole back. 4D rollers do move from bottom to top, so they cover more of your back within one programme. With 4D+ you also set how deeply they press. The Melkweg and Quasar chairs use 3D rollers, the Andromeda chairs 4D, and 4D+ is found only in the TITAN.
What is an SL-track and how does it differ from an L-track?
An SL-track follows the S-curve of your spine and runs without interruption from neck to buttocks. An L-track or straight track stops earlier, usually in the lower back. If you want the massage to include the buttocks, pick a model from the Andromeda collection.
What does the Zero Gravity position do?
Zero Gravity tilts the chair into a posture where your legs sit just above your heart. Your weight spreads more evenly, pressure on the spine drops and the massage feels calmer and deeper. The product page states whether a model has the position.
What are the airbags in a massage chair for?
Airbags fill with air and rhythmically squeeze your shoulders, arms, hips, legs and feet. That is called air compression. The rollers work on the back and the airbags take in the rest of the body. A massage chair with heat warms the back area as well.
What is a shiatsu massage chair?
A shiatsu massage chair imitates the pressure-point technique of Japanese shiatsu: the rollers press and circle on fixed points along the back instead of simply gliding. Almost every modern massage chair offers shiatsu as a programme, alongside kneading, tapping and drumming.
Is a massage chair healthy?
A massage chair is above all a way to relax. Users report feeling calmer and say their muscles feel less tense. Research into massage for muscle tension is limited in scale, so we promise no medical outcome: a chair cures nothing and replaces no treatment.
When is it better to consult a doctor first?
Speak to your doctor or physiotherapist beforehand if you are pregnant or have a pacemaker, thrombosis, osteoporosis, a herniated disc, a recent operation or pain of unknown origin. This is advice, not a ban. One short question gives you clarity for your own situation.
Can I try a massage chair before buying?
Yes, in two ways. You can try every model in our showroom in The Hague, and at home you have a 30-day trial period. If the chair turns out not to suit you, we collect it. The conditions are on the returns page.
What does delivery cost and how long does it take?
Standard delivery is free and usually arrives within one working day, with DHL and track and trace. For €95 two couriers bring the chair into the room of your choice. Collection in The Hague is possible, and every chair is Plug & Play.
What warranty do I get on a massage chair?
Every AlienComfort massage chair comes with a 5-year warranty. If something fails in that period through a material or manufacturing fault, we sort it out. Wear from normal use and damage from incorrect use are excluded. If you buy as a business, separate terms apply.
How do I look after a massage chair?
Wipe the upholstery with a slightly damp cloth and no aggressive products, and keep the tracks free of dust. Avoid direct sunlight, which fades synthetic leather faster. More care and usage tips are in our knowledge base.
